We do not live under the Law as members of the Church, however even though we cannot directly apply the Mosaic Law to our lives it teaches us about God's character. God's character is eternal and unchanging and the study of this text is the way that we get to know God through His Word. As Jesus prayed:
“Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” John 17:3
